PSHE
PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education)
The intent of our PSHE curriculum is to educate pupils in the dignity of the human person made in the image and likeness of God. ‘I am Special in God’s eyes.’ This underpins all that is done at our school; We create and maintain an atmosphere where every person in our school community and the wider world is valued and respected, regardless of race, gender and ability. We expect and encourage children to work hard and to respect their environment. We hope to encourage positive self-esteem and a sense of belonging. We aim to offer opportunities for pupils to develop an understanding of their faith and develop spiritually, morally, socially and culturally.
The PSHE curriculum helps children to understand their place in the God’s world. As a result of this they will become healthy, independent and responsible members of a society who understand how they are developing personally and socially, and give them confidence to tackle many of the moral, social and cultural issues that are part of growing up.
We provide our children with opportunities for them to learn about rights and responsibilities and appreciate what it means to be a member of a diverse society. Our children are encouraged to develop their sense of self-worth by playing a positive role in contributing to school life – through our parish and the wider community.
We deliver the PSHE curriculum through a Diocesan approved programme called TenTen.
