Celebrating Our Lady of Lourdes - 11th February
Click below for a slide show of the virtual prayer bag sent by the Diocese to help us celebrate Our Lady of Lourdes. There is a message from Bishop David, a Gospel reading and a reminder that the 11th February is also a World Day of Prayer for the Sick.
Please take some time over the next few days to come together, as a family, in prayer.
Our Lady of Lourdes is celebrated on the 11th February.
On 11th February, Our Lady appeared to a 14 year old girl named Bernadette in Lourdes.
Mary's message was simple. She told Bernadette to pray and turn away from wrongdoing to bring other people closer to God. Mary appeared many times to Bernadette and asked her to dig a hole in the ground. When Bernadette did this, she discovered a spring which still gives gallons of water today. Some people who were sick drank the water and were made better, other people who couldn't walk bathed in the water and could walk again.
The final slide has a link to Bernadette's Story.
